Eating out in Protaras

As our villas and apartments are self catering accommodation, we know our guests want advice on where to eat out along the Protaras strip in Ayia Napa and Pernera.

Protaras strip eating options include everything from fast food outlets to fine dining A la Carte restaurants. The choice is vast and caters for all budgets and taste.

So what and where are the best restaurants and takeaways?

Local Cuisine

When abroad you almost feel obliged to sample some local delicacies, and in Protaras there are, as you would expect, some good traditional Cypriot restaurants.  The Cyprus Tavern and Zafeiro’s Bar Restaurant are popular choices, offering a wide variety of Cypriot food. The regional centre of Paralimni is a bus or short taxi drive away. Paralimni is away from the tourist centre, you can eat here, where the locals eat, which is cheaper and you get the full authentic Cypriot feel. As this is a commercial centre, you will find other things cheaper here also. Perhaps combine a shopping and dining trip to Paralimni during your stay.

A restaurant called Just Italian is a popular choice, or if you prefer more central to the strip you will find Pizza hut.

Takeaway

Fast food choices include an array of Kebab houses, where you can get a specialty Greek Kebab, and there are plenty to them to choose from. Maybe try The Traditional Kebab House.

Love it or hate it every sizable resort has a Macdonald's, and Protaras is no exception. You will find Macdonald's at the end of the Protaras strip nearest to Pernera, next to the popular tourist attraction of the dancing fountains. For chicken lovers on the main road up from the strip there is a KFC, again this is at the Pernera end of the Protaras strip.

Nightlife in Protaras

Sphinx Bar with its Egyptian theme is located next to Macdonald's and regularly hosts tribute and other acts.

Bells bar is located fairly central on the strip and provides a real holiday atmosphere and is popular with a wide age range, and plays a variety of music.

Ayia Napa is a bus or taxi journey away should you want a really epic night out!

Paralimni

Traditional Cypriot commercial Centre with Church and square.

Famagusta Ghost town

Unoccupied and virtually untouched since it was destroyed in the 1974 Turkish invasion when its occupants fled. These ruin remains are a popular tourist attraction.

Ayia Napa Water park

One of the best waterparks in Europe. All the best water rides and a full day of fun.

Dancing Water Fountains

The dancing fountain show is fabulous and well worth a visit.  This impressive spectacle combines a mix of volcano eruptions, fire and smoke with dancing water choreographed to music . You can dine here whilst you enjoy the show.  This is situated near to Sphinx bar and McDonald's restaurant on the Protaras main strip.

Nissi Beach

With it’s unique Beach In The Sea, Nissi is a long beach offering relaxing sun bathing at one end, and foam parties and famous DJ's at the other.

No visit to Cyprus is complete without a visit to Nissi Beach.
